CVE-2022-45599Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrator access via loose MD5 comparison

Published Feb 22, 2023 · Updated Mar 17, 2025

Authentication bypass in Aztech WMB250AC firmware 016 2020 allows remote attackers to gain administrator access through the web login. The /var/www/login.php password check uses PHP's loose equality operator, causing numeric-looking MD5 values beginning with 0e to compare as equal. Exploitation requires the configured administrator password hash to match that format; a crafted password then opens an administrator session.
