Code execution via meta-refresh redirect
Published Jan 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 3, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Hundredrabbits Left 7.1.5 for macOS allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted Markdown file. Left renders an HTML meta refresh from the opened file, follows its attacker-controlled URL, and executes destination JavaScript with Electron's Node.js require capability. Execution requires a user to open the crafted file; the demonstrated payload invokes child_process to launch a local application.
