Authenticated code execution via unchecked file upload
Published Dec 6, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in AyaCMS 3.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code by submitting a crafted file. The upload_file branch in ajax.php invokes include/uploadifive/uploadifive.php, whose server-side handler accepts uploaded files without enforcing a safe extension or content type. Backend access is required; a submitted PHP web shell is stored under upload/~tmp and can run with the web server process privileges.
