Administrator code execution via theme package upload
Published Feb 7, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper authorization in SCHLIX CMS 2.2.7-2 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code through a crafted theme package. An administrator can add PHP code to a theme's index.php, install the ZIP through Theme Manager, activate it, and trigger the code from the home page. SCHLIX disputes the report because Theme Manager requires administrator access and intentionally permits executable themes from trusted sources.
