Router crash via unchecked page formatting
Published Dec 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Stack overflow in Tenda W30E 1.0.1.25(633) allows remote attackers to crash the router via a crafted SetIpBind page parameter. The /goform/SetIpBind handler passes the page value to sprintf without a size check while constructing a stack-based string, allowing an oversized value to overwrite the buffer. The published proof of concept logs in with administrative credentials before submitting a 12,288-byte value and demonstrates a router crash; code execution is asserted but not demonstrated.
