Router crash via unchecked page parameter
Published Dec 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda W30E firmware 1.0.1.25(633) allows remote attackers to crash the router through a crafted HTTP request. The /goform/VirtualSer handler passes the page parameter to sprintf without checking its length, overflowing a stack buffer. CISA scores privileges required as none, although the published proof of concept submits administrator credentials; it demonstrates a crash but not code execution.
