Service crash via unchecked sprintf input
Published Dec 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Stack overflow in Tenda W30E 1.0.1.25(633) allows remote attackers to crash the router through the mit_ssid_index parameter. The AdvSetWrlsafeset handler passes mit_ssid_index to sprintf for assembly in the stack variable v28 without checking the input length. The published proof of concept logs in to the administrative interface before sending an oversized value; it demonstrates a crash, while its root-shell claim is not demonstrated.
