Router crash via unchecked account concatenation
Published Dec 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Stack overflow in Tenda W30E firmware 1.0.1.25(633) allows remote attackers to crash the router through a crafted account parameter. The /goform/addUserName handler passes the account value to strcat for concatenation into the stack buffer identified as v12 without checking its size. The published proof of concept first authenticates with administrator credentials and demonstrates a crash; its root-shell claim is not demonstrated.
