Admin settings modification via missing CSRF check
Published Jan 23, 2023 · Updated Apr 2, 2025
CSRF in WPChill Image SEO before 2.0.8 allows remote attackers to change plugin settings through a logged-in administrator's browser. The imageseo_social_media_settings_save action accepts attacker-chosen social-card settings in a POST request without verifying a CSRF nonce. Exploitation requires an administrator with an active WordPress session to submit the crafted form, and the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized modification of the plugin's social-media configuration.
