OS command injection in Veritas NetBackup 10.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root via bpjava. The bpjava binary on the target Unix system fails to neutralize command input from a Java Admin Console request; the affected function and argument are undisclosed. Exploitation requires a non-root account explicitly added to auth.conf and authorized to manage a server or client, granting root-level command execution.
