Stored XSS via unescaped pagelist class attribute
Published Jan 23, 2023 · Updated Apr 3, 2025
Stored XSS in webvitalii Sitemap before 4.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in an administrator's browser via a crafted shortcode. The pagelist shortcode copies its class attribute into page output without validation or escaping, so an injected event handler persists in rendered content. Contributor-level access is sufficient; execution requires a higher-privileged user to view the crafted page and exposes that user's browser session to script actions.
