Unauthenticated server restart via crafted network packet
Published Dec 27, 2022 · Updated Apr 11, 2025
Improper access control in Dahua DSS Server allows remote attackers to restart affected Linux-based servers via crafted packets. The vulnerable interface processes a crafted packet as a restart request without authenticating the sender; Dahua has not disclosed the endpoint or packet field. Exploitation requires bypassing the firewall access-control policy and interrupts DSS availability by restarting the server.
