Fullscreen spoofing via reused windowName popups
Published Dec 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Fullscreen notification bypass in Firefox before 107, Firefox ESR before 102.5, and Thunderbird before 102.5 allows remote attackers to spoof UI. A crafted sequence of popups reuses windowName so a window enters fullscreen without displaying the expected notification prompt. Opening attacker-controlled web content is required, and the hidden transition can mislead a user with browser-like or site-spoofing content.
