Code execution via unneutralized CSV formulas
Published Nov 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
CSV injection in Scott Reilly Commenter Emails 2.6.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to place formulas in exported commenter data. The CSV export writes attacker-controlled WordPress comment fields into spreadsheet cells without neutralizing formula-leading characters. Exploitation requires a site administrator to export and open the file in spreadsheet software configured to evaluate the injected formula, bounding impact to that user's workstation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
