CVE-2022-45306Network attack vector

Agent file tampering via broad directory permissions

Published Nov 29, 2022 · Updated Apr 25, 2025

Insecure directory permissions in Chocolatey Azure-Pipelines-Agent 2.211.1 and earlier allow attackers to alter agent files. The package assigns write access on C:\agent and every file below it to the Windows Authenticated Users group instead of restricting modification to privileged accounts. Any account in that group can tamper with the agent tree; public records do not establish code execution or privilege escalation as a consequence.
