Remote code execution via settings PHP injection
Published Apr 25, 2023 · Updated Feb 4, 2025
Code injection in PWS Personal Weather Station Dashboard 2012_lts allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP code. Five exposed PHP endpoints accept attacker-controlled content for injection into settings.php, where the PHP interpreter executes the inserted code. The undocumented hardcoded support password satisfies the authentication gate, and the injected code runs with the web server process's privileges.
