Stored XSS via unescaped assigned-group title
Published Dec 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Collective collective.task 3.0.0 through 3.0.8 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through a group title. AssignedGroupColumn.renderCell inserts the assigned Plone group's title into task-table HTML without escaping it. Exploitation requires control of group metadata and a victim to view the affected table; the script then runs under the site's browser origin.
