Cross-site scripting via unescaped page titles
Published Dec 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in SleepData.org 58.x allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser via a crafted page title. Five shared Haml layouts mark the assembled page title as HTML-safe, suppressing Rails escaping of attacker-controlled title text. Exploitation requires low-privileged content control and a victim to view the affected page; injected script runs in the site's browser context.
