Two-factor authentication bypass via client-side validation
Published Apr 14, 2023 · Updated Feb 7, 2025
Improper authentication in LIVEBOX Collaboration vDesk through 018 allows remote attackers to bypass TOTP via a modified API response. The /api/v1/vdeskintegration/challenge endpoint reports an OTP failure, but client-side code alone decides whether the check passed and accepts an attacker-modified success status. Exploitation requires alteration of the client-visible response and opens the authenticated vDesk dashboard without a valid TOTP.
