CVE-2022-45153

Root escalation via overbroad generated sudoers rules

Published Feb 15, 2023 · Updated Mar 18, 2025

Incorrect default permissions in saphanabootstrap-formula before 0.13.1+git.1667812208.4db963e allow local users to escalate to root. The hana/ha_cluster.sls state generates sudo configuration that grants arbitrary users excessive command privileges instead of restricting access to the intended SAP HANA account. Successful exploitation requires local access and an affected formula-generated sudo configuration; it grants full root privileges.
