Code execution via unsanitized skin font path
Published Aug 22, 2025 · Updated Aug 25, 2025
Path traversal in Mahara 21.10 before 21.10.6, 22.04 before 22.04.4, or 22.10 before 22.10.1 allows remote attackers to write files. The skin importer accepts directory components in an XML font filename and writes attacker-supplied contents outside the font directory. A crafted skin import can expose protected files or place executable content under the web root; code runs when the server executes the placed file.
