Code injection in Linaro Automated Validation Architecture before 2022.11.1 allows remote attackers to execute code through its REST API. The device-configuration validation endpoint passes a submitted file to Jinja2 as template source, allowing template expressions to traverse Python objects and invoke operating-system commands. The endpoint is publicly accessible without authentication, and commands run with the privileges of the LAVA server web application user.
