CVE-2022-4506Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Dangerous file upload via trusted MIME type

Published Dec 15, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025

Dangerous file upload in OpenEMR before 7.0.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to store attacker-controlled files. The document upload controller trusts the client-supplied MIME type instead of deriving it from uploaded content, so a crafted file is accepted under a misleading type. A low-privileged account with document-upload access can place dangerous content in the document store, exposing patient data and server integrity.
