CVE-2022-4505Network attack vector

Authenticated appointment disclosure via tampered event ID

Published Dec 15, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025

Authorization bypass in OpenEMR before 7.0.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to view another patient's appointment via a changed event ID. The portal/add_edit_event_user.php handler trusted the eid query parameter without confirming that the requested appointment belonged to the logged-in patient. A valid patient-portal session is required, and the documented consequence is disclosure of another patient's appointment.
