Stored XSS via Display Name field
Published Nov 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 25, 2025
Cross-site scripting in WBCE CMS 1.5.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary web scripts via a crafted Display Name payload. The /admin/users/index.php user-management handler stores or renders the Display Name without neutralizing script markup, causing injected content to execute when an administrative page is viewed. The attack requires access to the user-management interface and a victim viewing the affected page; impact is limited to script execution in that victim's browser context.
