Unauthenticated command execution via ping input
Published Dec 13, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
OS command injection in IP-COM EW9 firmware 15.11.0.14(9732) allows remote attackers to execute commands through the ping function. The cmd_get_ping_output function passes attacker-controlled ping input to an OS command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation can read or alter device data or interrupt service.
