Session compromise via stored project-name script injection
Published Dec 2, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Stored XSS in Webtareas 2.4p5 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary script in another user's browser via a project name. The Add projects function accepts a crafted Name value and later renders the stored value in /projects/listprojects.php without neutralizing executable HTML. A victim must view the affected Projects page; the script then runs in that user's Webtareas origin and can act with the victim's session privileges.
