Authenticated file deletion via unchecked object path
Published Dec 7, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Path traversal in Casdoor before 1.126.1 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary files through the resource API. The delete-resource path passes the attacker-controlled object name to DeleteFile without rejecting '..' path segments, allowing resolution outside the application webroot. A valid Casdoor session is required, and deletion remains limited by the server process's filesystem permissions but can remove application data or interrupt service.
