Unauthenticated root command execution via login parameter
Published Jan 5, 2023 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
OS command injection in Control Web Panel 7 before 0.9.8.1147 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands without authentication. The login/index.php handler passes shell metacharacters from the login query parameter into a shell command, enabling command substitution. A crafted HTTPS request to the unauthenticated login endpoint executes as root, granting full control of the host.
