Unauthenticated memory corruption via unchecked input length
Published Nov 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 29, 2025
Buffer overflow in webGetVarString in D-Link DIR-882 1.10B02 and 1.20B06 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via crafted web input. The function processes attacker-controlled strings without verifying their length before writing them to its destination buffer. Unauthenticated network access is sufficient; public records do not identify the endpoint or establish whether corruption yields a crash or code execution.
