Credential exposure via weakly protected monitoring data

Published Oct 11, 2023 · Updated Sep 18, 2024

Weak cryptography in HCLSoftware BigFix Insights for Vulnerability Remediation 2.0.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to read credentials. HCL identifies the affected locus only as Fixlet interruption and monitoring URL/file data and does not disclose the weak protection operation. Network access without authentication is sufficient, and exposed credentials can enable sensitive-data access and unexpected data modification.
