Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attribute
Published Jan 23, 2023 · Updated Apr 2, 2025
Stored XSS in Easy Social Feed before 6.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through a crafted shortcode attribute. The Instagram feed shortcode outputs the wrapper_class attribute into page markup without validation or escaping, allowing injected event-handler JavaScript to persist. Contributor-level access is sufficient to store the payload, and it executes when another user, including an administrator, views the affected page.
