Information disclosure via automatic external-resource loading
Published Aug 22, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
SSRF in Apache Batik 1.16 allows context-dependent attackers to disclose information or consume resources through a malicious SVG. SVGConverter and SVGAbstractTranscoder enable external-resource retrieval by default, so attacker-controlled references are fetched without opt-in. Exploitation requires a Batik-based application or tool to process the SVG; consequences are bounded by the process's network and file access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
