CVE-2022-44720Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated root shell via unfiltered command redirection

Published Jun 29, 2023 · Updated Nov 27, 2024

OS command injection in Weblib Ucopia before 6.0.13 allows remote authenticated users to escape the restricted SSH shell and gain root access. The chrooted admin shell permits UNIX-socket forwarding to chroothole, whose server passes allowed command strings to a root shell without neutralizing redirection operators. An attacker needs the appliance's SSH admin credentials and network access; successful exploitation writes root-owned files, enabling persistent root login.
