Unauthenticated code execution via SSTP race condition
Published Dec 13, 2022 · Updated Jul 22, 2025
Remote code execution in Microsoft Windows SSTP allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted RAS connection request. SSTP packet processing contains a TOCTOU race, but Microsoft has not disclosed which checked resource is changed before use. The target must expose a RAS server with SSTP enabled, and exploitation requires winning the race without authentication or user interaction.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
