CVE-2022-44595Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account access via omitted authentication provider field

Published Mar 21, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026

Improper authentication in Melapress WP 2FA 2.2.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to bypass the second factor during login. Login::login_form_validate_2fa leaves the provider null or accepts an arbitrary value, skips every provider-specific validation branch, and completes login. The attacker must possess valid first-factor credentials, after which the protected WordPress account becomes accessible without its configured second factor.
