CVE-2022-44569Public exploit

Administrator impersonation via locked group-membership file

Published Nov 3, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024

Improper authentication in Ivanti Automation before 2023.4 allows local users to access its Admin Console as an administrator through insecure IPC. The Console's processor.exe writes group memberships for an attacker-chosen account to login.txt, and WMC.exe trusts that file when it is held open read-only. Exploitation requires local code execution and the name of an account assigned to an Automation administrator group.
