CVE-2022-44564

Protected-resource access and modification via path traversal

Published Dec 28, 2022 · Updated Apr 11, 2025

Path traversal in Huawei WATCH KIDS 4 Pro firmware allows local users to access or modify protected system resources. The firmware fails to validate a path received from external input before using it to select protected resources, allowing directory boundaries to be traversed. Exploitation requires the ability to install a malicious application on the physical watch, and the resulting access can expose or alter protected resources on that device.
