Permission bypass in HarmonyOS 2.0 and EMUI 11.0.1, 12.0.0, and 12.0.1 allows attackers to add widgets and shortcuts through unauthorized apps. The preset launcher module performs inadequate permission verification, but Huawei has not disclosed the missing check or affected operation. Exploitation requires an unauthorized app to invoke the affected functionality on the device; the bounded effect is silent modification of the launcher layout.
