Availability impact via graphics layer UAF
Published Nov 9, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025
Use-after-free in Huawei HarmonyOS 2.0 and 2.1 allows remote attackers to affect system availability via graphics display layer traversal. The graphics display module accesses a layer object after it has been freed while traversing graphic layers, creating a dangling-pointer condition. The published vector requires no authentication or user interaction over a network; exploitation is reported to impair availability, with no confidentiality or integrity impact.
