Geofencing information disclosure via missing API authorization
Published Nov 9, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025
Missing authorization in Huawei HarmonyOS and EMUI allows attackers to access geofencing APIs and information via third-party apps. The LBS module exposes its geofencing API without enforcing authorization for the calling third-party application. A malicious application must run on an affected device; affected releases are HarmonyOS 2.0 and 2.1 and EMUI 11.0.1, 12.0.0, and 12.0.1.
