CVE-2022-44548

Adjacent pairing bypass via incomplete permission verification

Published Nov 9, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025

Permission bypass in Huawei HarmonyOS 2.0 through 2.1 and EMUI 11.0.1 through 12.0.1 allows attackers to skip Bluetooth pairing confirmation. The Bluetooth pairing permission check fails to require the confirmation dialog, but Huawei has not disclosed the responsible function or exact validation error. Reachability requires Bluetooth proximity; successful exploitation can authorize pairing without the device user's approval, affecting pairing-state integrity.
