CVE-2022-4454

SQL injection via unescaped search keywords

Published Dec 13, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

SQL injection in bible-online before 2022-10-02 allows remote authenticated users to read or alter database data via the search handler. The query method in src/main/java/custom/application/search.java concatenates attacker-supplied keywords directly into SQL LIKE clauses; the fixing commit replaces concatenation with parameter placeholders and bound values. Access requires authenticated adjacent-network use of the search interface, and successful exploitation can expose or modify database records and affect service availability.
