Authenticated stored XSS via unescaped asset names
Published Dec 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Snipe-IT before 6.0.14 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in other users’ browsers. The account/view-assets Blade view renders database-controlled accessory and consumable names with unescaped HTML output, allowing stored payloads to execute when assigned assets are viewed. Exploitation requires a logged-in user who can place content in an asset record and a victim to open the View Assigned Assets page; observed impact is browser-script execution with confidentiality and integrity effects in the victim’s session.
