Device crash via unchecked syslog parameters
Published Dec 2, 2022 · Updated Apr 24, 2025
Stack overflow in Tenda i21 firmware 1.0.0.14(4656) allows remote attackers to crash the access point via a crafted HTTP request. When op is add, AddSysLogRule concatenates unchecked logip, logport, and len values into mib_value with sprintf, overflowing a stack buffer. No account or user action is required, and the demonstrated consequence is a device crash rather than proven code execution.
