CVE-2022-44264

Local privilege escalation via unquoted service path

Published Jan 26, 2023 · Updated Mar 31, 2025

Unquoted service path handling in Dentsply Sirona Sidexis 4.3 and earlier allows local users to gain local administrative privileges. Sidexis Service launches C:\Program Files\Sirona\SIDEXIS4\SidexisRestService.exe without quoting the path, while parent directories grant write access to Everyone. Local users need write access to those directories and execution of the service to run attacker-controlled code with the service account's local administrative rights.
