Browser script execution via reflected request path
Published Feb 10, 2023 · Updated Mar 24, 2025
Reflected XSS in Avery Dennison Monarch Printer M9855 firmware 2011.06.02 allows remote attackers to run script via a crafted URL. The XCD WebAdmin error handler inserts the decoded request path into its HTML 404 response without sanitizing it, making an img onerror payload executable markup. No authentication is required, but a user must follow the crafted URL; script runs in the printer site's browser context and can read or alter accessible page data.
