Authenticated code execution via unchecked text copy
Published Nov 23, 2022 · Updated Apr 25, 2025
Buffer overflow in TOTOLINK LR350 firmware 9.3.5u.6369_B20220309 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via crafted SMS text. In setSmsCfg, replace_string derives a copy length from the attacker-controlled first plus sign and passes it to strncpy without bounding the fixed stack destination. Authenticated web-management access is required; a crafted text value overwrites the return address, enabling shellcode execution on the router.
