Authenticated Super Administrator escalation via cross-instance token reuse
Published Nov 9, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025
Improper authentication in Lin-CMS 0.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to gain Super Administrator privileges via a reused token. The API accepts an administrator token obtained from the public demo deployment when it is presented to a separate Lin-CMS instance, then resolves it as the root administrator. Access to the demo administrator account and a reachable target API is required; successful reuse exposes user data and grants full administrative control.
