CVE-2022-4418

Local privilege escalation via unsigned library loading

Published May 18, 2023 · Updated Jan 22, 2025

Improper signature verification in Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office before build 40208 allows local users to elevate privileges. The affected Windows library loader accepts unsigned code without verifying its cryptographic signature before loading it. Acronis has not identified the loader, library path, or triggering operation; exploitation requires existing low-privileged local access and grants code execution at higher privilege.
